Aahana The Corbett Wilderness

Aahana, The Corbett Wilderness Resort is a peaceful, super luxurious and relaxing natural retreat in Uttarakhand in the Corbett Tiger Reserve vicinity. It is synonymous with luxury in the jungles. Aahana is one of the most scenic and well designed resorts in the Corbett Tiger reserve area and is located at Sawaldeh village in Ram Nagar and is at an approximate distance of 260 kms from New Delhi. The resort is spread over an area of 11 acres and shares its boundary with the north eastern periphery of Corbett.
Aahana means “first rays of Sun” in Sanskrit, and at Aahana the first rays of the sun fall on the resort and the golden reflection of the resort is a spectacular treat to eyes and also to the cameras.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the place is soul soothing and peaceful. Different types of accommodation options are available for stay at Aahana. Care has been taken to design them in an eco-friendly manner and at the same time equip them with modern day amenities for a comfortable stay.
The resort has six different types of cottages – Corbett Club, Jims retreat, Jungle lore Suite, Ranger Suite, Aahana Family Suite, and the villas. All rooms are equipped with HD LCD TVs and a Mini bar.
This huge resort is located right on a busy road but once inside the campus, it feels as if you are inside a peaceful and charismatic heaven. The smiling staff here greeting you to a world of peace, harmony and serenity right at the entrance makes you feel pampered. Greenery all around, amazing landscape, inviting swimming pool, chirping birds, and the naturopathy center make one relaxed and the sounds of the traffic on the highway seems lost in the infinitive universe outside the campus.

Aahana is also a combination of wellness activities – naturopathy, ayurvedic therapies, organic farming, and yoga etc. which are available for the traveler coming here for recreation and cure. They provide various kinds of treatments in traditional ways. An extremely motivated and committed team of doctors and therapists ensure the highest levels in the quality of treatment and medicinal preparations. Special health and beauty care packages are specifically designed to treat modern day maladies like stress, obesity, weight loss and hair loss.

In naturopathy they say that “Food is Medicine”. And this is also followed here at Aahana. All of the raw material for food is grown inside the campus at the Organic Farms and the milk supply comes from the in-house barn.
Aahana’s only restaurant Dhikala offers one of the best foods I have ever had in any of the innumerable resorts all over India. The restaurant is huge; indoor as well as outdoors. While we were there, Chefs offered us delicious Indian, Chinese, Continental, and regional cuisines. Local Kumaoni delicacies like the Aloo Kumoani , Bhutt KI Churkhani, Muli ka Thechua, Green Saag, Pahari Raita, Jhangora Rice, Kumaoni Jholi etc. were also served on our request. Food was amazing and the service staff provided an elegant and unobtrusive dining experience.

The most significant feature of the resort was its recycling policy – not a small piece of scrap is wasted. An exhaustive explanation of the entire operation which uses natural methods only was also done on our request.

This is Aahana, The Corbett Wilderness Resort. We were here at Aahana, The Corbett Wilderness Resort for two days and for these two days we enjoyed a luxurious stay as well as learned the ways to treat our own bodies with more care by staying close to nature.
