Time and again Lebron James proves everyone why he is called the ‘King’ and why is he always a part of the discussion for the greatest basketball player ever as James made two terrific back to back plays to secure the Cavs victory and provide a 3-2 lead in the first round of the NBA 2017-18 Playoffs. With 12 seconds left in the game and the scores tied at 95, Lebron James had a massive chase down block on Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers. After Lebron’s block the Cleveland Cavaliers called for a time-out to discuss their final play as their were only 3 seconds left and the scores were still tied. 3 seconds sounds a very small amount of time for making a play but not to the King as Jeff Green inbounded the ball straight away to James who got himself free outside the three point line after avoiding a series of screens, Lebron took two dribbles and pulled up just outside the three point line and as the ball went airborne the buzzer sounded and ‘swish’. Their it was, the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Indiana Pacers 98-95. Lebron James posted 44 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 8 assists.
Let’s take a look again at Lebron’s game winning buzzer beater:
The Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers have played one of the closest series of the opening round, with the teams knotted at two games each. This is unfamiliar ground for LeBron James, who uncharacteristically lost a Game 1 in a playoff series. This was also his first loss in a first-round game in five years. It’s wild to think the Cavs were mere minutes from trailing 3-1 before a Game 4 comeback.
The Cavs have survived because LeBron has been amazing, of course. His 32 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists narrowly gave the Cavs a 104-100 win in their last outing.
