The ‘no-working together’ phase between Salman Khan and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finally come to an end. Both have re-collaborated after two decades for an epic romance drama ‘Inshallah’. Interestingly, Alia Bhatt has been roped in to portray Sallu’s love-angle which also marks her first collaboration with both Bhansali and Khan.
Overwhelmed with the news Alia wrote on Twitter, “I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office, all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. It’s been a long wait. Dream with your eyes wide open they say & I did. Sanjay Sir and Salman Khan are magical together & I can’t wait to join them on this beautiful journey called Inshallah.”
Salman’s last film with Bhansali was 1999 blockbuster ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ which featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the female lead. However, he also marked a guest appearance in Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor debut film ‘Saawariya’ in 2007.
In a recent interview Bhansali termed Salman a mega-star with the ‘cult status of Rajinikanth’. Moreover, the 30 year age gap between the lead actors has certainly kept the audience guessing.
Slated to release on Eid in 2020, the film will clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ which is helmed by Rohit Shetty.
