DC vs SRH: Today’s IPL Match Predictions and Top Performers

DC vs SRH Today’s IPL Match Predictions and Top Performers

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) lock horns in Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2020 today. While the overall record of both the teams might look even on the surface, a closer look reveals a stark difference between the two teams. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been in sensational form over the last few weeks, winning four matches in a row. Two of those victories came against the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians (the only other teams remaining in the tournament). SRH beat the Royal Challegers Bangalore (RCB) in their eliminator matchup en route to the qualifier. SRH’s bowling attack has surprisingly managed to stay afloat despite losing stalwarts Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mithcell Marsh to injury. T Natarajan and Rashid Khan picked up the slack with a total of 35 wickets between themselves. The batting duo of Kane Williamson and Jason Holder also showed nerves of steel during the close fought victory against RCB in the eliminator. David Warner can also be expected to continue his stellar form with the bat.

The Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have really struggled in the second half of the tournament. They got off to a flying start but have only managed one victory in their last six games. Kagiso Rabada’s dip in form has been the most shocking. After being the leading wicket taker for most of the tournament, he has struggled recently. DC will also need its batting lineup, led by Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer to deliver the goods against the balanced SRH bowling attack. As a matter of fact, the Delhi Capitals suffered humiliating losses on both the occasions they squared up against the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season.

Pitch Prediction

Abu Dhabi’s pitch is a batting beauty and it will be great for stroke making. It will be a good bowling pitch for the pacers as well. Dew might end up being a key factor in the second part of the match. It’s a good pitch to bat second as the temperature will be cooler (around 29 degrees Celsius) and the humidity will also drop down to the 40s. The pitch has consistently proven to be slow with very little swing with the new ball. Spinners can also prove to be lethal on this pitch. It’s definitely a “win toss-field first” pitch. Though a score in the range of 160-180 might prove difficult to chase.
