Post Graduate Diploma in Management is a diploma course in the management stream. - Degree vs Diploma
At the end of the MBA program, candidates are offered a degree, but in PGP or PGDM, candidates are awarded a diploma. Like IIMs, Xavier, and SP Jain, most of the autonomous colleges in India offer diploma courses. But recently Indian government passed an act that allows IIMs to offer degrees instead of diplomas.
- Syllabus
MBA course curriculum is designed by the university under which the college is. All the colleges under this university have the same syllabus. Whereas in Diploma courses, the colleges can design the courses according to the requirements of the industry. PGDM has the upper hand here.
- Fake Colleges
Since most colleges offering MBA are affiliated with a university, these colleges will be properly accredited. But in the case of diploma courses, smaller autonomous colleges may not have proper accreditation status. So do proper research before joining these diploma courses offered by autonomous colleges.
- Focus
Even though both the courses have the same core subjects, the MBA course focuses more on theoretical and technical aspects. The latter focuses on practical approaches depending upon the market requirements.
- Affordable
The MBA program is more affordable when compared to the PGDM program as MBA programs are mostly offered by government-approved universities and colleges.

About the Startup

He also believes that if there is an appropriate portal, which can create a set of college recommendations based on the student’s background, marks, and abilities, that product will be a super success by using advanced algorithms.
