Yami planning on an organic garden in her Himachal home

Yami Gautam who recently wrapped up the shooting for Shree Narayan Singh‘s social drama film Batti Gul Meter Chalu alongside Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor is all set to do more for Mother Nature. The actress who hails from the scenic mountain state of  Himachal Pradesh, the region that is well known for lush forests, snow capped mountains, valleys of flowers and pristine watered rivers.

The state, like a lot of other has been grappling with the pesticides and chemical coated vegetables as well. Yami who has always been vocal about choosing the organic way of living not just with her food but her beauty regimen also decided to take matters into her own hands and has been planning to set up a greenhouse at the home in Himachal.

Reportedly, the actress aims to have an organic garden with her choice of fruits, vegetables and flowers growing. Apart from which she will also plant trees all around the garden to help the growing air population issues in the area. She aims to take it one step further by requesting other houses in the neighborhood to also plant a few trees as well.

Reveals Yami “There is already plantation there. I want to ensure it’s a process that doesn’t stop and am able to make it into an organic farm eventually. It is something I am inspired to do… I want to ensure the place is just not bought but it is utilized for something useful also it gives opportunity to ensure a chance to break away from the city life and reconnect to my Pahadi roots.”

We love the stance Yami is taking with regards to her organic living and hope the green house flourishes so she has delicious chemical free meals right from her garden, whenever she goes home on holiday.
