Well known for experimenting with her characters in her films, Bollywood artiste Richa Chadha is up with another surprise for her fans.
The on-screen Bholi Punjaban is all set to dazzle the audience with her belly dancing skills. Richa will soon be shooting for a special promotional song and is currently taking extensive lessons of belly dancing for a dance sequence in her much anticipated upcoming film ‘Shakeela‘.
Based on the life of 80s Malayalam film actress, Shakeela, the biopic will see the ‘Masaan’ actress in the titular role, where she’ll depict the journey of the lady spanning from her young days to becoming a nation wide phenomenon as an adult actress in the late 90’s.
Interestingly, she is training under the guidance of Mumbai based belly dancing instructor Shaina Lebana. Richa has been taking lessons from Shaina for the past three weeks and will be training for few more weeks. This is not the first time that Richa has attempted the Arabic dance form, she used to take belly dance tutorials 3 years ago. When she learnt that there will be a belly dance number in the film she got thrilled and was all set to reprise the dance form.
Reveals Richa, “The song that I’m learning belly dancing for will be a part of the promotions of the film. I have always loved learning newer forms of dance and belly dancing is not only very attractive and graceful but is also a very tough dance form to learn and adapt. Shaina is brilliant at what she does and I’m glad I’m learning under her supervision”.
The film is being helmed by the acclaimed director, Indrajit Lankesh.
