Okay so you got your Schengen visa and all set for Europe. Yeyy! But it takes proper planning and some handy tips for smoother travel execution and hassle-free trip especially when you are stepping outside of your home country. Here are couple of travel tips which I found really essential during my Europe tour.
1. Bookings – Europe is big and Schengen Visa gives you the liberty of multiple entries to 26 EU countries in Europe having said that the transportation and accommodation cost are pretty much dynamic therefore, planning in advance is a must. It is highly recommended that you book all your flight/train/bus tickets in advance let’s say 2 months prior to your trip same goes for the hotel reservations. There are many cheap domestic airlines such as ryanair and vueling.
2. Money – Keep your euros and forex handy! Although you will find card payment option everywhere in Europe but many local shops deal only with cash. For e.g. in villages of Italy and Germany we had to pay by cash.
3. Food – There comes the major part of your travel 😊 It’s a little bit difficult for vegetarians to manage in some countries of Europe such as Germany, Greece, Netherlands (Unless you are ready to pay for high prices for vegetarian food in hotels across many cities) For non-vegetarians it’s a paradise. Well irrespective of your meal preferences, it is strongly recommended to keep your preferred snacks or fruits handy all the time.
4. Water – This is chargeable everywhere in Europe and unlike India, water is not served along with the food in restaurants. Western Europe has safe tap water, while eastern Europe is less likely to have it. Best solution is to buy water bottles from the supermarkets.
5. Packing – Light Packing may not be light always! Well you are up for one of the coldest regions in the world. How could I advise to pack light? 😊 Ok on a serious note do take only essential things with you. Check the weather forecast for woollen needs. Do not forget on the medicines part. The charging point is different than that we have here in India. You must carry the travel adapter.

6. Sightseeing – And the last point, your itinerary probably the best part of your trip again advance planning and pre-booking is required here. Do book your tours and bus tickets well before time as the prices are really dynamic. There are hop on and hop off bus services available for tourists almost everywhere in Europe. Buy your museum tickets (For example, Colosseum in Rome or the Louvre Museum in Paris) online to avoid the long queue and waiting time at your destination.

What will be your suggestion, For one week plan to visit Europe? Any specific countries? how many countries can we cover in 7 days?
And please share details if we want to use EURO train (if I am not wrong it’s going through all the countries)
yes eurail covers mostly all countries and 1 week is really short time to switch between countries, if you are a first timer, Paris – Amsterdam (2 countries) is a good option!
