How To Meditate With Rose Water

One of the things I like to do at the end of the day, is invite the rejuvenating smell of roses in. It’s almost therapeutic and mentally calms me down so much, I can almost sense a soft cloud of relaxation over me as I use it on my face.

Let’s look at the history of this wonderful aromatic water:

The use of fragrant flowers for the purpose of getting perfume has been dated back to Sassanid Persia. In Persia, it was known as Golab.

Rose water is extracted from roses through steam distillation which was refined in Persia. Once it became easy and effective to transport, it was traded and reached many rich countries. The ancient Greeks and Romans would invest in high quality gardens of roses, because it were that important to them.

Egyptian Queen, Cleopatra, one of the most beautiful and powerful goddesses, would actually bathe herself in rose water. She clearly knew that there was more to this than luxury! It was skincare gold. And, perfect for someone obsessed with maintaining youthfulness and clear skin.

The benefits of rose water have been studied for centuries. It was used as perfume, but it is also used for medicinal or treatment purposes as it contains anti- microbial compounds. It has natural anti- oxidants which can help to reverse skin damage/ scars. And, it’s hydrating!

So here’s what I like to do with my rose water.
1. Put cotton pads in a mason jar.
2. Add 2:1 ratio of clean water and rose water.
3. Give it a shake.
4. Put it in my fridge.

Any time I need a little pick me up, or whenever I want to get the dirt and grime off my face, I simply take a cotton pad, or two and place it over my eyes. This helps to reduce puffiness and cools the eyes.
From there, I like to wipe my face with it, gently.
The favourite part is smelling the aroma as soon as I take a cotton pad out, and prepare my skin for the best trick in the history of skin care.

For anyone that wants to meditate with the cotton infused rose water, here’s how to do it:
1. Go to a place where you won’t be disturbed
2. Inhale deeply and exhale through your mouth
3. Take a cotton pad(s) out from the jar.
4. Place it on your eyes and inhale deeply again.
5. Let your mind be focused on the cooling sensation of the eyes.
6. Now, focus on the smell.
7. Inhale deeply again and exhale.
8. Using the cotton pad, wipe your face.
9. Invite the feeling of rejuvenation and let it fill your whole body.
10. Relax.

Think twice before buying expensive skincare, all you need is a bottle of easily available, organic rose water!
