5 Ways to be a More Productive Writer

Writer’s block isn’t something everyone can understand. You are keying in words after words, trying to polish that shitty first draft like a gem in its true glory but you just can’t seem to get enough done.
Writing is something which fills your souls and most of the time, comes naturally. However, the creative block can be truly frustration and lethargic for a writer who just has to meet his deadlines. Just like everything else in the world, there are obvious ‘Hacks’ which have been tested over and over again by so many writers throughout the world to make your self a more productive writer. Here are some of those hacks broken down for you to get benefitted from.

Find Your True Time

Do you come across magazine pages hat ask you to write first thing in the morning and be done with it because morning is supposed to be the most apt time for fresh thoughts? Do yourself a favor and stop listening to that BS.
For any writer, any time of the day can be apt. Some feel fresher while writing in the morning, sipping their tea and looking at the sunrise. On the other hand, some feel comfortable in dead of the night, with their coffee by the side table and pink Floyd coming out of that old stereo. The moral of the story is, figure out which time of the day you enjoy the most while writing and work around that.

Prepare Your Body Too

You cannot write your best novel while sneezing and feeling lethargic all the time. More often than ever, writers ignore the fact that the way you feel is primarily associated with your health. If you do not take care of your body and health enough, you will slowly lose the motivation to do anything and writing is one of them too. Go out on walks and start eating healthy for not only a better body, but also a better writing career.

Take Breaks

By these breaks, we don’t mean the obvious breaks you should take between your writing sessions. We are talking about a much-deserved break from writing.
A reason for your non-productivity can be too much exhaustion with the writing only. just like any other profession, you need a break from your work too. Take a vacation and spend time with your family, completely forgetting about the writing for some time. Come back to your pens fresh and start scribbling.

Reward Yourself

When you are done completing that first draft, have some mercy on your poor self and go have that chocolate mud cake you had your eyes on for days. Rewarding yourself can become a fun exercise and you will surely be more excited about.
